Adopting Industry-Leading AI Automation Technology for Production Line Optimisation

Picture

The Client

The client is a leading provider of integrated warewashing solutions in Singapore, with over 200 F&B and institutional clients, including major corporate caterers and renowned F&B brands. The company operates a 24/7 centralized warewashing facility, offering services such as crockery rental, on-site stewarding, and logistics support.

They employ over 100 staff, demonstrating a substantial operational scale and capability. The client has also achieved ISO45001 certification and Cleanmark Accreditation and is recognized for its early adoption of senior worker-friendly employment policies.

How RIC Helped

Grant Secured:

RIC helped the client secure the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) under the Innovation & Productivity pillar. The grant provided up to 70% support, amounting to over SG$110,000, for automation and consultancy components of the project.

Scope of RIC’s Consulting and Advisory Services:

RIC scoped and prepared the full project proposal, incorporating:
  • Process Mapping and Productivity Analysis: RIC led the project scoping by conducting in-depth process mapping and productivity analysis to identify inefficiencies and areas for automation in the client's warewashing processes.
  • Technology Assessment and Solution Evaluation: We evaluated various automation technologies, recommending AI-driven solutions for the soaking and drying processes, and integrating a custom ERP system to control the production line seamlessly.
  • Implementation and Training Plans: RIC designed comprehensive implementation plans, including the integration of automation hardware and AI-powered software, and developed training programs for staff to ensure smooth system adoption.
  • Continuous Improvement Strategies: RIC provided consulting on sustainability tracking and future optimization roadmaps, supporting the client in future-proofing their operations.

Outcomes

  • Productivity Gains: The automation system achieved 85% productivity improvement across multiple stages of the warewashing process, including soaking, drying, and sorting.
  • Time Savings: The automation led to a reduction of over 800 hours per week, translating into SG$1.79 million in productivity gains over five years.
  • Employee Well-being: By reducing manual labor and minimizing ergonomic risks, the client enhanced staff retention and working conditions, fostering a more efficient and healthier work environment.
  • Operational Visibility and Customer Service: The integration of an AI-powered tracking system improved operational transparency, allowing for real-time tracking and digital proof-of-delivery, improving customer service.
  • Sustainability and Future Planning: RIC worked closely with the client, ensuring the successful implementation, staff training, and a post-project roadmap for ongoing optimization and sustainability tracking.

Throughout this journey, RIC worked hand-in-hand with the client, ensuring the project was not only fundable but also executable and aligned with long-term business goals. Our ability to understand both the science and the strategic roadmap of the client’s innovation was instrumental in delivering success.

This case exemplifies how RIC enables high-potential industrial innovators to bridge the gap between operational efficiency and technological advancement. Our end-to-end consulting, grant expertise, and technical fluency make us the ideal partner for firms looking to turn automation investments into scalable, globally competitive solutions.
